Tramping

Gebbies pass is open to the public after the recent earthquakes, but we are not offering it as an instructed activity in 2011 as there were a few rock falls that hit the track in Sept 2010. We expect that we will resume using this tramp in 2012

For a challenging 5 hour tramp. Walk in to Orton Bradley Park from Gebbies Pass, passing Packhorse Hut.

Shorter tramps around Orton Bradley Park

• Magnificent Gully Walk: one hour through native bush and farmland with fine views of Lyttelton Harbour
• Dunmallet Walkway:20 minutes from heritage area.

The shorter walks are suitable for teachers to take groups themselves. We recommend hiring one instructor for packhorse heart tramp

Some tramps are not available from mid August to mid Oct due to lambing

Walks are available for all ages
